Terms and Conditions of Service

1. Introduction
By signing up for the RAK Virtual Work Experience, UK platform (the “Platform”), you agree to work on projects owned by The African Village Limited (TAV) United Kingdom under the terms and conditions outlined below.

Your participation on the Platform is voluntary, and all work done by you is unpaid.

This agreement is between you and The African Village Limited.
 
2. Work and Engagement
The work experience offered is centred on real projects owned and executed by The African Village Limited. Your engagement is on a voluntary basis, and you are expected to contribute meaningfully to the projects during your participation.

Participation in projects is designed to help you gain relevant UK work experience aligned with your professional qualifications.

You understand that you will be working for TAV during your time on the Platform, and all work completed will be recognized as work done for TAV.

If you are resident in the UK, you will need to submit documentation to show your eligibility to work in the United Kingdom before your virtual work experience can commence.

If you are physically in the UK, you are prohibited from engaging in work on the Platform unless you can prove your right to work in the UK.

By using this Platform, you confirm that you either have a right to work in the United Kingdom or you are not physically present in the United Kingdom.

If you sign up to this Platform as a person not physically in the UK and you enter the UK as a visitor, your subscription to work on the Platform will be deemed terminated one hour before the moment you enter UK jurisdiction.

Your purchase of the Professional Package entitles you to 180 days continuous access to the virtual learning platform at the expiry of which access will be restricted.

3. Unpaid Nature of Work
All work done on the Platform is strictly unpaid. You will not receive financial compensation for your contributions or time.
 
4. Work Reference
You are eligible to request a work reference for your contributions to projects at any point after completing a project. There is no fixed timeline for requesting references.

The reference will be provided by The African Village Limited and will reflect the quality and quantity of work you completed during your participation.
 
5. Intellectual Property (IP)
You agree that all intellectual property rights in any work you created on the Platform, automatically and exclusively belong to The African Village Limited (TAV) from the moment of creation, without the need for any transfer, and without any compensation to you.

You understand and agree that any claims of ownership or compensation for any work you created or developed on the Platform are invalid.
 
6. Third-Party Opportunities
While your work on the Platform is centered on TAV projects, there may be opportunities to collaborate with third-party companies. Any such collaboration will be optional and based on emerging opportunities.

No specific conditions or terms are established in advance regarding such third-party engagements.
 
7. Group Live Work Sessions
Live work sessions will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (UK time) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additional sessions may be scheduled based on client requests.

These sessions are intended to facilitate teamwork, communication, and project progress.

You are expected to participate, and the Platform holds no liability for missed sessions or technical difficulties preventing participation.
 
8. Flexible Project Work
You are encouraged to collaborate with your teams and work on their projects outside the scheduled live work sessions. All project work should be logged accordingly to track your contributions.
Flexibility is granted for project teams to agree on additional hours or schedules to meet their project goals.
 
9. Technical Requirements
You are expected to provide your own devices and have access to a stable internet connection suitable for video conferencing and online collaboration.

The Platform bears no liability for technical issues, including connectivity problems, which prevent you from participating in live work sessions or other project activities.
 
10. Data Protection & GDPR Compliance
By signing up for the Platform, you consent to The African Village Limited collecting, storing, and processing your personal information as required for delivering the services offered on the Platform.

We are committed to adhering to all GDPR regulations. Your data will only be used for the purposes of managing your participation on the Platform, and appropriate security measures are in place to safeguard your information.

11. No Refund Policy
All fees paid for signing up to the RAK Virtual Work Experience, UK platform are non-refundable, regardless of your level of participation or engagement.
 
12. Client Conduct
You agree to adhere to professional standards of behavior and collaboration while participating on the Platform.

Unruly or disruptive behavior, harassment, or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated. Any such behavior may result in removal from the Platform, without any consequences or liabilities to the Platform owners.

13. Termination of Subscription Due to Right to Work Expiration
If your legal right to work in the United Kingdom expires during your 180-day subscription period, your subscription and access to the Platform will be terminated as of the expiration date of your right to work. You are required to notify the Platform immediately if your right to work in the UK changes. Failure to do so may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account. Refunds for unused portions of the subscription period will not be issued.
 
14. Force Majeure
The African Village Limited is not liable for any interruptions, delays, or cancellations caused by events outside its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, internet outages, government restrictions, or other unforeseen circumstances (“Force Majeure”).

In the event of a Force Majeure, the Platform will make reasonable efforts to resume services, but there will be no entitlement to refunds or extensions of service due to these interruptions.
 
15. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from participation on the Platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in the UK.
